Senior Ashley Alford and the Patriot Track and Field Team traveled to Joplin, Missouri, Friday night to take part in the Missouri Southern State Indoor Invitational. During the two day event, the Patriots accumulated 4 NCCAA Indoor National Qualifiers and had two second place finishes.
Alford, who ran in the Women's DMR on Friday and in the Women's 800 meters on Saturday finished second in both events. She was the top collegiate finisher in the 800 meters and ran an Indoor Personal Best (PB) of 2:20.77. Ashford led the way with her eighth place finish in the Women's Elite Mile, running 5:25.84. In the second heat of the mile, Kibet placed second in 5:33.28 just ahead of Spivey, who crossed the line in 5:33.86.
