Dallas Baptist Patriot Senior Bryan Baumann was recently named to the All-Tournament Team for his play in the Heartland Conference Basketball Tournament, hosted on the campus of St. Mary's University on March 4.
The guard from Allen, Texas, averaged an impressive 20.5 points and four rebounds over the course of two games. In the opening game, Baumann recorded 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a 96-87 win over the University of Texas A&M International.
The following day, against the University of the Incarnate Word, Baumann scored 27 points, including two three-pointers in the final 1:15 of regulation to keep the Patriots in the game. His second three with 14 seconds on the clock sent the game to overtime, where the Patriots eventually fell to the defending Heartland Conference Champions, 106-103.
Baumann and the Patriots will continue their season this Thursday, March 11, as they take on Southwestern Assembly of God University in opening round play of the NCCAA Tournament. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. in Waxahachie, Texas.
