The Patriot Track and Field Teams had one of their best days in school history this weekend at the Rice University Fred J. Duckett Twilight Track and Field Invitational. In nearly perfect track and field conditions against a stacked field of competition, including host team Rice University, Texas A&M University, and Baylor. Senior Hannah Steffan lowered her own school record and hit an automatic qualifying time for the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Track and Field Championships at the Penn Relays Thursday evening. Steffan bettered her previous school record by one second as she ran 16:55.53 in the Penn Relays Championship segment of the Women's 5000 meters. This past weekend, the Dallas Baptist University Patriot Track and Field Teams took part in the annual UTA Bobby Lane Invitational. Seniors Hannah Steffan and Laura Mucho were also invited to compete in the prestigious Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California.
