BACK ON THE COURT – The Dallas Baptist Men's Basketball Team (4-4) gears up for non-conference foe, Texas A&M-Commerce, in a rematch on Monday at 4 PM.
Monday's contest concludes a three-game home stretch in the Burg Center, and is the third game played in six-day span for the Patriots. The game is a rescheduled tip that was cancelled Dec. 6
th due to weather conditions.
LAST TIME OUT – On Saturday, DBU watched its three-game winning stretch halted by Texas-Permian Basin 80-66. The setback also snapped a streak of four wins in a row at the Burg Center.
The Patriots were in front the entire first half from the tip, sprinting out to an 8-0 lead. The Falcons eventually concluded the frame with a 12-3 run, that included a tip-in at the buzzer to knot the score 29-29 at halftime.

Remy Ndiaye tallied a career best 27 points, breaking his previous high by one point on homecoming against Mid-America Christian. Redshirt Sophomore
Jonathan Perry also chipped in 15 points to be the other part of the duo recording double figures in scoring.
SCOUTING THE LIONS – Texas A&M-Commerce (9-1) carried an unblemished record about a week and a half ago, but was finally defeated by Northwood University 75-73 in a shocking loss.
A&M-Commerce matched-up with Northwood eight days later, and staked a 19-point advantage at halftime that eventually resulted in a 105-75 win. It was the highest tally of points scored by the Lions on the campaign, which saw contributions from 11 individuals in the blowout. Six Lion players notched double figure performances, led by Kameron Price with 22 for a game-high.
DBU played at Texas A&M-Commerce earlier this season, and fell 72-67. The Patriots staked their largest lead of the night by 13 points, but TAMC's strong offense proved to be enough down the stretch of a nail-biting finish.
Perry scored a game-high 21 points for DBU. Sophomore
Charles Allen and Johnson capped a trio of double-digit scorers for the Patriots contributing 12 and 10 points, respectively.
PLAYERS TO WATCH – Several players have delivered impact minutes for Patriots through the first eight games of the season. Perry holds the team-lead with 163 points and has scored double-digits in all but one contest this year.
Ndiaye has set personal bests twice already this year, but also has been a steady force in the paint; averaging 13.1 ppg and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game. Allen is helping the forward on the boards by pulling down 6.1 a contest.
Being a spark off the bench most of the campaign has been junior,
Wesley Gipson, averaging 8.1 ppg. The Fort Worth, Texas, native posted a season-high 19 points in a victory over Lubbock Christian in the Heartland Conference Opener.
END OF THE HOME STRETCH – Early in this young campaign DBU has taken advantage of a heavy home slate in the schedule. Seven of its first 10 games are slotted at the Burg Center, with one of the road contests counting towards exhibition. With one game remaining, the Patriots will look to build on its early fortune of being in front of the home crowd.
Since dropping the season opener by a point 78-77 against East Texas Baptist, DBU has won four of five and is averaging 79 points per game (ppg) in the friendly confines. In their first victory of the season, the Patriots scored a season-high 93 points over Dallas Christian College.
Homecoming was Dallas Baptist's best shooting performance as a team, pouring on 90 points at a 53-percent rate from the floor (27-51) while including a season best 52-percent (16-31) behind the arc.
A few days later, the Men's Basketball Team for DBU notched another feat to add to the program's history records. Perry poured a single-game scoring high 47 points to lift DBU in a 89-80 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE – Dallas Baptist finishes its home portion of the schedule for 2013, and embarks on a three-game road trip. Next scheduled tip is set for Dec. 21 at Oral Roberts at 1 PM.
