Kaycie Bird, as released by the conference office today has received Heartland Conference Player of the Week honors for her play against the University of Texas-Permian Basin and Lubbock Christan University during the week of October 5 - October 11. This is the second week in a row a Lady Patriot has received Heartland Conference Player of the Week honors.

Setter of the Week, In a week where the DBU won back to back Heartland Conference matches against UTPB and LCU, Bird amassed 43 total assists, with 17 against UTPB and 26 assists against LCU in the final match. Running a 6-2 system she averaged 5.3 assists per set, while also contributing with 18 digs and two services aces.  

Next up for the Lady Patriots, they head to Durant, OK to face the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm on October 13. First serve is set for 6 pm.
