Dallas Baptist University Athletics is excited to announce the unveiling of new logos for the department. In partnership with local design group Beam Team Design, the new marks will serve as the foundational marks for all 20 intercollegiate athletics programs.
 
The new marks maintain and enhance the brand of the University while giving DBU Athletics a distinct yet complementary identity. The easily-identifiable set of athletic marks is anchored by a bold, slightly arched "DBU", a revamped Patriot mascot mark, and a comprehensive set of color variations and sports-specific marks. The set allows for both flexibility and consistency within the brand extension and offers different themes with alternate color-way applications.  
 
"We couldn't be more pleased and excited with our new set of marks and look forward to many years ahead to extending and building our brand throughout the community and across the intercollegiate athletics landscape," shared Director of Athletics Connor Smith. "These logos embody the strong, iconic representation of our Athletic Department and our sports teams — one that sets the pace and direction for the next generation of DBU Patriots," added Jonathan Teat, Vice President for Administrative Affairs. 
 
The designs enhance the history and patriotic tradition of the institution with navy, red, and white colors while firmly establishing a theme that well represents the extraordinary dedication, passion, and Christ-centered focus of DBU coaches, staff, and student-athletes along with our fans, faculty, staff, students, and alumni. 
 
"Working with DBU Athletics' clear-cut direction coupled with their preparedness spring-boarded the creative process to quickly reach the resolution of their vision for the identity of DBU Athletics - a simple, but stylish, athletic theme, that coordinates well with the existing University brand, and uses marks that loudly announced 'DBU Athletics' – even at a glance. Mission: Accomplished," shared Alan Beam, Owner/Artist of Beam Team Design. 
 
The new marks come at an exciting time for DBU Athletics as all 20 Patriot programs look to build from a solid fall sport campaign and finish the 2015-2016 academic year in record-breaking fashion. "What an exciting time for Patriot Athletics – we couldn't be more excited for the spring semester, our coaches, and student-athletes," added Smith.
