DBU's Men's Basketball Team wrapped up their second win in a row tonight with 59% shooting from the field.  The Patriots, who never trailed for the second time two games, ran the Aggies from Oklahoma Panhandle State University out of the gym with a 73-52, convincing win.  With the win, DBU improved to 6-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play, while the Aggies fell to 5-12 and 1-4.

The Patriots ran out to a 31-8 lead with seven minutes to play in the first half.  The run was prompted by Sophomore Erik Villarreal, who hit two three-pointers to excite the crowd and team.  The Aggies made a small run to finish up the first half and closed the lead to 37-22, but left enough time on the clock for Sophomore Brandon Wash to bank in a shot with two seconds left in the half.

DBU using Wash's shot as momentum started the second half with an 11-4 run to push their lead to 22 points.  The Aggies were never able to recover after the quick run by the Patriots to start the second half.

The Patriots, who have made it a point to stiffen up their defense over the past week, held OPSU to 32.1% shooting from the field and 36.4% from the three-point line.  DBU on the other hand was hitting shots from all over the court, shooting a season high 59.2% from the field and 50% from beyond the arch.

Leading the Patriots to victory was Junior Dwight Coleman, who scored 15 points and pulled down 11 boards.  This marks Coleman's second double, double in back to back games.  Sophomore Brandon Wash added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Villarreal ended the game with nine points, four rebounds, and two assists.

DBU will be in action Monday, January 22, when they welcome the University of Texas Permian-Basin to the Burg Center for a 7:00 tip.
