Men's Basketball
The Patriots Basketball Team could not seem to get things going on Tuesday night when they played host to the Tigers of East Central University. The Tigers opened up a 20-point lead in the second half and finished off DBU, 84-64. With the loss, DBU fell to 0-2, while ECU improved to 1-0.
The Patriots struggled from the field and free throw line the entire game. DBU ended up shooting 40 percent from the field and only 11 percent from beyond the arch. The Patriots also committed 17 turnovers and was out rebounded 38-25.
ECU who seemed to have the upper hand the entire game shot 51 percent from the field and 54 percent from the three-point line. The Tigers had everything going their way on Tuesday and was able to use the momentum to run DBU out of the gym.
Leading the Patriots was Senior Dwight Coleman, who scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Sophomore Heath Wiechman had 11 points and three boards.
The Patriots next contest will be on Wednesday afternoon when they play
Central
Christian
College at the
Burg
Center. The game is scheduled to start at 2:00.
