The Patriots Basketball Team took on Dallas Christian College on Tuesday night at the Burg Center .  DBU, who was coming off a tough loss against Arkansas Tech, took care of the Crusaders in easy fashion.  The Patriots ran to a 119-64 victory to improve to 2-3 on the season, while the Crusaders fell to 0-8.

The Crusaders competed with the DBU early on in the game holding a five-point lead but DBU's overwhelming defensive pressure started to wear down DCC.  With the hard nose pressure on defense the Patriots took a 56-32 lead into the half.  DBU also used 52 percent shooting from the field and 64 percent shooting from beyond the arch to help stretch their lead in the first half.

The second half was no different with the Patriots pushing the lead even further after wearing down the tired Crusader team.  DBU shot 67 percent in the second half and forced the crusaders into several turnovers to help extend their lead.

For the game, the Patriots held DCC to 42 percent shooting from the field and forced them into 19 turnovers.  While DBU ended up shooting 60 percent from the field and 57 percent from the three-point line, by hitting 16 of 28 attempts.

The Freshmen duo of Thomas Mathews and Braxton Adamson led the Patriots to  victory.  Each player scored a career high, with Mathews scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 boards, while Adamson had a game high 24 points, including hitting six three-pointers.

The Patriots will be in action again on December 15, when they welcome the University of the Incarnate Word to the Burg Center for a 2:00 Heartland Conference show down.
