The Patriots Men's Basketball Team could not pull off a miraculous come from behind victory on Saturday afternoon, against Texas A&M International University . DBU, who was down 10 points with a 1:30 to play in regulation, went on an improbable 10-0 run to tie the score and force overtime. Several key turnovers and long distance shots helped spark the run.

DBU was not able to use their momentum from the end of the game in overtime and ran out of gas down the stretch. The Patriots forced several passes in the overtime period, which led to turnovers, and was out scored 19-11 to suffer their 10th loss of the year. With the 102-94 loss, the Patriots fell to 5-10, while the Dustdevils improved to 5-9.

The Patriots took a two-point lead into intermission, after they shot 54 percent from the field and connected on seven of 12 free throws. DBU held the Dustdevils to 36 percent shooting and forced them into several turnovers in the first half.

The second half saw each team switch positions shooting the ball, when DBU could not seem to by a break around the basket. Several of the Patriots shots rolled in and out, allowing TAMIU to stick around and eventually make a 10-0 run to push their lead to 10 points. The stingy Patriots would not go down without a fight and proceeded to go on their 10-0 run.

DBU ended up shooting 46 percent from the field for the game, while TAMIU shot only 44 percent. The difference in the game ended up being turnovers, with DBU committing 29 to only 18 for the Dustdevils.

DBU was led by Senior Nick Michels, who scored 24 points, pulled down five boards, and dished out three assists, while Senior Dwight Coleman had a huge second half, finishing up with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Spencer Foreman scored a game high 26 points for TAMIU, while Derek Barnes and Chris Swan each had 19.

The Patriots will look to rebound from their tough loss on January 21, when they travel to take on Heartland Conference foe, St. Edward's University, in Austin, Texas.
