DBU dropped their fifth straight contest on Monday night in Odessa, Texas , against the University of Texas-Permian Basin. The Falcons were in control the entire game, winning each half and finishing off DBU, 85-72. The Patriots fell to 5-14 overall, while UTPB improved to 7-10.

The Patriots continued to struggle on the offensive side of the ball by connecting on 34 percent of their shots and hitting one of 14 three-point attempts. DBU, who seemed to be playing lackadaisical at the tail end of a road trip, committed 20 turnovers, which fueled easy transition points for the Falcons.

UTPB on the other hand shot 54 percent for the game, including hitting 12 of 21 from beyond the arch. The Falcons, who were decent in the first half, did most of their damage in the second half when they could not miss a shot. The Falcons hit on eight of 10 three-point attempts and knocked down 60 percent of their field goal attempts, to score 56 points.

The Patriots were led by Junior Brandon Wash, who scored 22 points and grabbed 11 boards, while Sophomore Eddie Gloviak had 16 points and seven rebounds.

Justin Bailey led all scores and the Falcons to victory, with 32 points and seven rebounds, while Quintan Lipkins contributed with 15 points, three assists, and three steals.

DBU will look to snap their five game losing streak on February 4, when they welcome Newman University to the Burg Center for a 7:00 contest.
