The Patriots Basketball Team advanced to the NCCAA Regional Championship game after they defeated Ecclesia College, on Tuesday night, 85-82. DBU, who is now 14-15 overall, won the Regional Championship last season and will look to defend their championship on Wednesday night, when they take on Mid America Christian College at 7:00.

DBU raced out to an early lead in the game riding the hot shooting of Freshman Braxton Adamson and the cold shooting of Ecclesia. The Patriots opened up a 19 point lead heading into the half, after shooting 48 percent and holding the Royals to 31 percent.

The second half turned out to be a completely different game, with the Royals catching fire and veraciously making a run at the Patriots huge lead. Ecclesia shot an astounding 67 percent; including knocking down 11 of 19 three-point attempts in the second half to out score DBU by 18 points.

The Patriots managed to come up with enough stops at the end of the game and executed on the offensive end of the court when points were needed to close out the victory.

For the game, DBU shot 43 percent from the field, 75 percent from the charity line, committed 11 turnovers, and pulled down 34 boards, while the Royals knocked down 50 percent of their shots from the field, 66 percent of their free-throws, turned the ball over 15 times, and grabbed 32 rebounds.

Adamson led the way for the Patriots with 22 points, including hitting six three-point shots, while Senior Manny Montano had 16 points and four rebounds.
