Enos Blasts Two Homeruns, Patriots Drop Rubbermatch Against Fresno State

With the series tied at one game apiece, the Dallas Baptist Patriot Baseball Team lost the rubbermatch against Fresno State University on Saturday evening. The 15-7 loss for the Patriots was their second consecutive loss against the Bulldogs, and drops them to 24-19 on the season.

After pitching four innings, allowing ten runs on ten hits, and striking out five, DBU Junior Brandon Williamson was dealt his third loss of the season.

Scoreless through two, the Patriots jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third, as Junior Tyler Robbins picked up a RBI single, scoring Haney who had reached on a throwing error. With Robbins on, Senior Ryan Enos blasted his team leading, 14th homerun of the season, giving the Patriots the early lead.

The Bulldogs scored one run in the third, but strung together three singles, two doubles, and two walks in the fourth, scoring six runs, and taking a 7-3 lead.

Senior Austin Knight drew a walk in the top of the fifth, and Robbins followed with his fifth homerun of the season, a two run shot to left field, making it 7-5. Junior Jason Krizan reached on a double to left center on the very next at bat, and Enos knotted the game at seven, with his second homerun of the night.

The Patriots only managed two hits over the next four innings, while the Bulldogs tacked on five runs in the fifth and three in the sixth, for the 15-7 win.

The Patriots will continue their 11 game road swing a little closer to home on Tuesday, May 4, as they take on UT Arlington. The Patriots swept the three game series against the Mavericks at the beginning of the season. Tuesday's game is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Clay Gould Ballpark.
