Leading the Patriots in shot attempts was senior
David Balyeat with five, and the Mesquite, Texas, native also landed two on target. His third goal of the season put the team on the board in the second half.
Â
A trio of players also claimed multi-shooting results which included: juniors Brain Robertson and
Alex Becerra, and sophomore
Brandon O'Donovan with two each.
Â
HIGHLIGHTSBoth teams controlled pressure an even amount of times throughout the early going in the first frame, but LCU would draw first advantage with a shot by Lennard Hansen. His netter occurred at the 25:26 minute mark and would hold through intermission.
Â
Hansen contributed his second goal of the day in the 52
nd minute, skillfully completing a goal inside the box to double the road team's edge.
Â
Balyeat nipped the deficit in half on a Penalty kick at the 68:51 point.
Â
Just under 10 minutes later, the Patriots knotted the contest as freshman
Nathan McBride finished off his third goal of the season, and second in consecutive games. Balyeat set him up to complete his final season with nine points.
