KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist University snapped a four-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over UT-Permian Basin on Saturday, October 24. Redshirt freshman midfielder Brooks Friedman scored the game's lone goal in the 80th minute to lift the Patriots over the Falcons.
 
DBU outshot UTPB 16-6 and 9-2 on goal. Goalkeeper Sean Bouland made his second straight start in the net for the Patriots and earned his first win of the season. Bouland made two saves in the match.
 
The Patriots look to remain in the Heartland Conference tournament mix with a crucial match against St. Mary's, who also holds a 3-3 record in the conference. DBU squares off with the Rattlers on Thursday evening at Patriot Soccer Field.
 
PROGRAM RECORD WIN TOTAL
DBU matched their program record for single-season win total at six with the win over UTPB. The Patriots can break the record with a win over St. Mary's.   
 
HEARTLAND CONFERENCE PLAYOFF PICTURE
DBU and St. Mary's are tied for the fourth postseason berth with nine points in conference play. Each school has two games remaining, including Thursday's matchup. The Patriots would clinch a spot in the Heartland Conference tournament with a win over the Rattlers.
 
SCOUTING THE RATTLERS
After a three-game conference losing streak in the middle of its season, St. Mary's has turned it around with two straight wins entering Thursday's game.
 
The top offensive threats for the Rattlers are seniors Victor Luna and Aaron Dunks, who have combined for nine goals this season.
