THE LEAD
Dallas Baptist defeated Texas A&M-Commerce 2-0 on Tuesday at Lion Soccer Field in Commerce, Texas. Junior forward Rebecca Kernen scored the first goal for the Patriots in the 34th minute off a pass from freshman forward Maddie Owen.

Junior forward Cecily Martinez scored an unassisted goal in the 65th minute to extend DBU's lead to 2-0. Senior goalkeeper Jenna Ackerly recorded her seventh shutout and made five saves in the match to preserve the Patriot lead.
