Miles scored the game-winner seven minutes later after a fumbled save by Ackerly. Miles netted her second goal after another nine minutes to extend Western Washington's lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute. The Patriots' defense forced many bad looks as the Vikings only placed nine of their 27 shots on goal. Ackerly made six saves in the match.
