THE LEAD
Dallas Baptist University and Bethel College tied 2-2 in the group play opener for both teams in the 2015 NCCAA Men's Soccer Championships. Freshman Michalin Dennie scored his fourth goal of the season to level the score at 2-2 in the 78^th minute to secure a point for the Patriots in the group table.
 
The Pilots took a quick 1-0 lead in the ninth minute on Pedro Amaral's 18^th goal of the year. Bethel held its lead through the first half, but DBU defender David Fraga scored the equalizer in the 56^th minute off a deflection from Pilots' goalkeeper Isaach Lindahl.
 
Bethel took a 2-1 lead just six minutes before Dennie's game-tying goal when Lukas Muszong found Helton Moura for the open shot. Neither the Patriots nor the Pilots were able to score a winner in extra time.
 
IN THE NUMBERS
4 – DBU goalie Sean Bouland recorded a career-high four saves in the match.
1 – The Patriots allowed just one shot to Bethel in both periods of extra time.
