THE LEAD The Dallas Baptist University Men's Basketball Team won convincingly over the Arlington Baptist Patriots, 116-54 scoring the third most points in DBU basketball history.
Amari Bryant led the Patriots in scoring notching 22 points on the evening, shooting 5-7 from beyond the arc. Other Patriots scoring in doubles figures included
Myles Johnson 18,
Shannon Lilly and
Tim Simmons both with 14, and
Franklin Uzonwanne with 11.
Jordan Gosey had a game high 10 rebounds.
DBU put themselves in a comfortable position going up 54-25 in the first half against ABC.
Myles Johnson and
Shannon Lilly combined for 24 points along with the Patriots shooting over 50% from the three point line going 9-16. The Patriots also shot 60% from the field during the half, holding Arlington Baptist to only 37.5%.
Out of intermission, the Patriots continued their dominance going up by as much as 67 points in the second half. DBU scored 45 points off of Arlington Baptist turnovers with 26 coming in the second half. The Patriots also had key contributions from their bench, who scored 60 on the evening with 40 coming in the second half as well. DBU breezed past ABC 116-54 to get their third straight win of the season, improving their record to 5-2.
