THE LEADAfter winning their last three matches, The Dallas Baptist Volleyball Team fell to the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, 3-0.
Carly Hess led DBU with 11 kills, while

In the first set of the evening Dallas Baptist would create an early lead and go on to extend that advantage by as much as six points mid-set, in front 16-10. Despite their lead, the Lady Patriots would not be able to hold on to it, as multiple point streaks by the Lions allowed them to engineer a late comeback to take the first set, 25-23, going up 1-0 for the match. Â
Texas A&M-Commerce would continue their momentum early in set two. With both teams tied 2-2, the Lions would score four straight points due to attack errors by the Lady Patriots to take the lead 6-2. As the set continued, DBU would be able to pull within two points of TAMUC down, 9-7. Multiple three and four point streaks by the Lions would allow them to pull away from the Lady Patriots once again. A late rally would give Dallas Baptist new life as they pulled within striking distance trailing Texas A&M-Commerce by only one point behind, 24-23, but it would not be enough as the Lions sealed set two with a score of, 25-23, taking a 2-0 match lead.
With their backs against the wall, the Lady Patriots jumped out to an early 5-1 lead. Battling through the set, DBU would allow TAMUC to creep back into the lead as they went on a run that included scoring six out of seven points to go in front,13-12. Dallas Baptist would regain the lead after a
Brooke Manley kill put the Lady Patriots up, 15-14. The Lions would re-take the lead after scoring the next five points, going up, 19-15. From there TAMUC would control the rest of the third set winning 25-20, sweeping DBU 3-0 for the match.
