KICK-OFF
The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team lost to St. Mary's, 2-1, on Thursday night at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas. After going down 2-0 in the 68th minute, the Patriots tried to launch a late comeback but were held off by the Rattlers.

With 56 seconds left in the match, goalkeeper Sean Bouland put a free kick into the box that was headed by Garrett Morgan to the far right corner of the goal, and was finished off by Ryan Anderson. DBU marched down the field shortly after, setting up Brooks Friedman for a chance for the game tying goal. Friedman's attempt was wide right of the net.
 
DBU looks to snap a three-game skid against No. 8 St. Edward's at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Lewis-Chen Family Field in Austin, Texas.
 
PATRIOT STORYLINES
 - The Patriots rank third in the Heartland Conference in saves (55).

 - Riley Alvey leads the conference in gamewinning goals (3).
 
 - Brandon O'Donovan is seeking his first goal of the season, despite leading the Patriots in shots (18) and shots on goal (8).

SCOUTING ST. EDWARD'S
The Hilltoppers have been among the top teams in the country, boasting a 10-1 mark, with the only loss coming in an overtime shocker on the road against Rogers State. St. Edward's leads the Heartland Conference in goals allowed (5) and save percentage (.848).
 
The Hilltoppers' stingy defense is led by goalkeeper Kevin Leib, who has allowed just five goals in eleven starts and made 27 saves. On the offensive side, Grant Mobley leads the team with five goals and three assists, totaling 13 points.
 
SERIES HISTORY
DBU has lost all four meetings with St. Edward's, with the last coming at the end of last season by a score of 2-0. Pablo Covarrubias scored both goals for the Hilltoppers in the 28th and 84thminutes.
