THE LEAD
The Lady Patriots squared up against Lubbock Christian tonight with a depleted roster. LCU came out on top but DBU continued to inspire with resilience, heart, and adaptability in the face on adversity. The Lady Patriots where headlined by
Sidnee Jo Fitzpatrick and
Hannah Ballew whom both registered season-highs in blocks. Fitzpatrick recorded 7 along with 8 kills, while Ballew tallied 3 with 6 kills and 2 aces.

In the first set DBU jumped to a 4-1 lead after scoring four straight. However, momentum quickly shifted when LCU went on an 11-1 run to pull away a 6-13 lead. The Lady Patriots continued to battle but never were able to surpass Lubbock Christian as they dropped the first set 18-25.

The second set was much of the same, DBU started with a 3-0 lead but LCU was able to tie it back up at 8 apiece. The set was tied up six more times up until an 18-18 score. The set concluded with a flurry of points by LCU as they tallied the last 8 points of the match to notch the 18-25 win.

The Lady Patriots played from behind the entire third set as they were fighting from a 12-19 deficit at one point. DBU went on to prove how strong-willed they are as they climbed back with 4 straight points to pull within three with a 16-19 score. LCU finished the set much like the others, Lubbock Christian went on a 7-1 run to steal the set and match with a 17-25 score.
