With runners at the corners in the fifth inning, DBU trimmed the lead to 3-1 on a Tim Millard groundout, allowing second baseman Luke Stratman to cross the plate.

The Patriots took a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning, highlighted by homeruns from shortstop Trooper Reynolds and center fielder Jameson Hannah. DBU extended its lead to 6-3 in the top of the eighth inning when Jameson Hannah hit a bases-clearing triple to deep right field. The Patriots got their final run on the board by way of a solo homerun off the bat of left fielder Daniel Sweet.
