Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Lady Patriots Bested by Fort Smith

THE LEAD
DBU fell to a streaking UA Fort Smith team that has now won four straight. The Lady Patriots look to remain positive as they progress in the season and work on their discipline. DBU's defense struggled tonight, as they were only able to tally one block in the match. The Lady Patriots did receive some great effort from Sophomore Alexa Lezak who led the team with 13 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Hannah Hester also contributed with the teams only 2 aces.

During the first set, the game was tied at eight different times up until the score was locked at 10-10. UAFS took advantage of a little home crowd energy and jumped to a five point lead making it 15-10. DBU struggled on defense and could not find any traction as the team dropped the first set to Fort Smith 19-25.

The second set was much like the first set. The game had six tied scores in the games first twenty points with a 10-10 score. UAFS found their consistency and outscored the Lady Patriots 15-6 to close on the second set 16-25.

History repeated itself once again as the third set was a tight, back-and-forth battle during the first 10 points as Senior Carly Hess was pushing her team. However, another 5-0 run by Fort Smith electrified the stands and put them out of reach. UAFS won the third and final set 20-25.
