DBU and Southwestern Assemblies of God Draw, 1-1

THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team tied Southwestern Assemblies of God University 1-1 on Saturday night in Waxahachie, Texas. Jacob Garcia was the hero of the game once again after scoring the tying goal in the 78th minute.

The Lions got on the scoreboard first in the 30th minute, when Miguel Torres scored his second goal of the year, assisted by Bonia Velasquez. The goal was the only blemish for freshman goalkeeper Tyler Hoffman, making his first start, who made seven saves.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- In both of DBU's games this season, Garcia has come off the bench to score a crucial goal. He scored the gamewinner in Thursday's season opener and the tying goal on Saturday.
 - After allowing SAGU to take eight shots in the first period, the Patriots' defense held the Lions to just three shots in the second half.
 - DBU is off to an unbeaten start for the second straight year after starting the 2015 season with an identical 1-0-1 start.
