The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team lost to Newman University, 3-1, on Thursday night at Wilkins Field in Wichita, Kansas. The Jets scored three goals in the first six minutes of the match and held off the Patriots through the rest of the match.
Jamie Barkway scored his first and second goals in the fourth and sixth minutes, respectively, to give Newman a 3-0 lead at the 5:13 mark.
Michalin Dennie cut the Jets' lead to two goals in the 26th minute after drawing goalkeeper Calum Dillon out of the box and putting a ball over him for Dennie's first goal of the season.

The Hillcats improved to 5-2-2 with a huge 2-1 victory over No. 3 St. Edward's on Thursday night, handing the Hilltoppers their first loss of the season. Jake Simpson scored the gamewinning goal against St. Edward's for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Cody Gammill has succeeded in goal for Rogers State, recording 31 saves and only allowing eight goals in nine appearances. Gammill was selected to the NSCAA All-South Central Region Third Team last season.
