THE LEAD
Behind a season-high 29 points and 11 rebounds from JT Harris, DBU rolled past the Newman Jets, 102-81, on Thursday night at Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kansas.  Much of Harris' damage came from three-point range, as the redshirt-sophomore drained 7-of-11 shots from downtown in the Patriots' 21-point victory.  Four other Patriots joined Harris in double-digits including Boy Van Vliet (16), Myles Johnson (13), Patrick Burke (13), Amari Bryant (11), and Xavier Ledet (10). 
 
DBU took complete control of the game from the opening tip, racing out to a 17-0 lead in the first five minutes, before the Jets finally got on the board.  The Patriots would end up shooting 56 percent from the field in the first half and carried a 56-34 lead into the locker room. 
 
The Patriots extended their lead to as many as 30 points when Myles Johnson connected on a three-pointer with 13:01 remaining on the clock.  Johnson's trey was one of 13 three-pointers DBU made on the night, as the Patriots shot 42 percent from beyond the arc.
 
With the win, DBU moves to within a half-game of St. Edward's for first place in the Heartland Conference standings and extends their win streak to a season-high three games.
 
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- With DBU's win over Newman, the all-time series is now tied at 10 wins apiece for each team.
- Tonight marks the second time this year that the Patriots have eclipsed the 100-point mark.
- Myles Johnson made the 100th start of his career tonight, moving him into a tie with Armie Lewis for the fourth most starts in program history.

Saturday's game versus Oklahoma Panhandle State has been canceled due to expected inclement weather in Oklahoma.  The Patriots return to action on January 19 when they travel to Oklahoma City to face Oklahoma Christian.
