Joan and Andy Horner Ballpark, a top-20 facility and the home of DBU Baseball, will welcome a new facility addition with the start of the 2018 season as a state-of-the-art LED video display will be added to complement one of college baseball's finest ballparks.

Â
Measuring 30 feet tall and 43.2 feet wide, the new outdoor display by Daktronics will span a total of 1,320 square feet and be supported by
two red brick pillars with cast stone caps. The pinnacle of the structure will feature steel elements consistent with the early-American architectural theme of DBU's main campus along with DBU Baseball-branded signage. The Sports and Entertainment group from HKS designed both Horner Ballpark and the outdoor video display system, with design consultation from Idibri.                                          Â
Â
"We are thrilled to launch the DBU Baseball Video Board Campaign and make this facility addition concept a reality for our program and fans," said DBU Director of Athletics
Connor Smith. "We look forward with anticipation to an enhanced fan environment at one of the premier ballparks in college baseball."
Â
Horner Ballpark, recently named one of the Top 20 venues in college baseball by D1Baseball.com, opened in time for the 2013 season and hosted the NCAA Dallas Regional Tournament in 2015. "The addition of this video board is another testament to the support this program receives from our administration, faculty, staff and student body," said DBU Head Coach
Dan Heefner. "We are extremely excited for what the board will do for our fans and their experience at Horner Ballpark."
Â
On-site construction for the structure and video board will begin in the coming weeks as the Patriots open the 2018 season at Horner Ballpark on February 16.
