Patriots Finish Regular Season With Win at Texas A&M International

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Soccer team (13-3-2, 11-1-2 Heartland Conference) made it seven straight years of at least 13 wins Saturday with a 1-0 win at Texas A&M International (3-12-2, 2-11-1).

Patriot career minutes leader Leah Draper scored the game-winner off a rebound of a free kick, her first goal of the season.

Hope Koym made five saves as the Patriots recorded their fourth consecutive shutout and ninth of the year. DBU kept Elaine Salazar busy on the other end, putting 11 shots on target.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - The Patriots had already guaranteed themselves the top seed in the Heartland Conference tournament with Thursday's win at St. Mary's.

 - DBU is undefeated in its last seven games.

 - The Patriots' four-game shutout streak is their longest since the end of the 2016 season, in which they finished the season without giving up a regulation or overtime goal in their last five games.

COACH MICHELLE LENARD ON A STRONG FINISH
"We were a little slow to start today, but had a good second half and controlled the momentum the rest of the way. It wasn't our best performance, but we did what we needed to do to wrap up the season. I'm happy with the results, and now we just need to focus on the postseason."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
21 - Draper became the 21st Patriot to score a point this season.

1  - DBU has beaten the Dustdevils 1-0 twice this season.
