DBU Starts Road Trip Losing in Three Sets to West Texas A&M

THE RUNDOWN
The Lady Patriots lost a road game against West Texas A&M in three quick sets. This match kicked off a two-game road trip for DBU volleyball, but things didn't start as good as the Lady Patriots would have hoped. The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M made quick work of DBU and won the match in three sets with scores of 25-18, 25-22, and 25-20. The Lady Patriots had their blocking in full force and ended the match with seven blocks, but that seemed to be the only bright spot in the match. DBU ended the match with only 33 kills and a season-low 42 digs.

The first set started out close and no team could hold onto the lead or momentum. With DBU down 12-14, the Lady Buffs would change that and go on a run to extend their lead to 21-13. DBU would almost come back to tie the set up, the deficit was too much to overcome and DBU would lose the set 18-25. The second set saw DBU never be able to take the lead. The deficit never reached more than five points, but the Lady Patriots couldn't seem to get over the hump and take the lead. They would fight from behind the entire way until losing the second set 22-25. The Lady Patriots still showed fight in the third. They traded points with WTAMU until the set was tied up at 12 a piece. After some impressive kills by the Lady Buffs, they would take control and lead the set 21-15. DBU brought the match to a score of 19-22, but errors hurt DBU here and they would go on to lose the set 20-25 and lose the match 0-3.
