DBU got a 3-0 win at home against Southern Nazarene. The Lady Patriots had a great defensive performance this afternoon, holding SNU to a hitting percentage of .035. The Lady Patriots also tallied 80 digs in the match, which is a season-high for a match that only went to three sets. The offense also had another balanced performance with four players ending with at least seven kills.Â
Each set played out a little differently. The 1st set was a high-energy, back and forth set that ended with eight different lead changes. Eventually, DBU found themselves tied with SNU 18-18 before they would score three in a row to take a 21-18 lead. SNU would try to comeback, but DBU did a good job of holding onto the lead before winning the set 26-24. The 2nd set saw SNU score the first five points to take a quick 5-0 lead. The Lady Patriots would fight back to tie things up at 12-12. They would then score 10 points in a row to take a commanding 22-12 lead before ultimately winning the set 25-15. SNU would have a small lead for most of the 3rd set until they took a late 20-15 lead. The Lady Patriots would comeback again and score six in a row to take a 21-20 lead. DBU would extend the lead to 23-22 before
Brooke Clark finished the match with two kills and the Lady Patriots won the set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The big 2nd set win was a real turning point in today's match. The 10-point run was a great spark for the offense and the defense held SNU to a -.136 hitting percentage for the set.
- The Lady Patriots have now won four of their last five matches after their six-match losing streak.
- This win gives the Lady Patriots 10 on the season, which they haven't done since 2015.

12- Alexa Lezak had a game-high 12 kills in today's match. She also had the 3rd most digs on the team with 16.
