The DBU Men's Soccer team lost its first game of the season 1-0 to Ouachita Baptist in Texarkana, Texas. Tinashe Chigede, the Tigers' leading scorer from 2016, opened the scoring in 2017 with a header across the net in the 14th minute. Blaine Hickman picked up the assist on Chigede's goal.
The Patriots outshot Ouachita 19-17 and only allowed 2 shots on goal. DBU forced Tiger goalkeeper Edward Pacheco to make 5 saves in the contest. A potential game-tying shot by
Ethan Martinez hit the post in the 86th minute.
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - The Patriots turned up the pressure in the second half, taking 12 of their 19 shots and getting four of them on goal after the intermission.
