The DBU Ice Hockey team ran their record to 6-0 with a two-game sweep of Texas Tech on the road last weekend.  Below is a recap of the two games versus the Red Raiders, as the Patriots claimed a 9-6 win on Friday and 7-3 victory on their home ice.

September 22: The first period showed a slow start for the Patriots, as DBU and Texas Tech went into the locker room tied, 1-1. The lone DBU goal came from Lane Haught (Trenton Lee, Patrick Lee), which was his first for the '17-18 season.  The second period showed a much more familiar DBU team scoring another four goals, but allowed three against. The goals came from Jeremy Fortner (Trenton Lee), Tyler Lee (Trenton Lee, Patrick Lee), Brett Stevens (Weston Shattuck, Spencer Ericksen), and Trenton Lee (Cory Guld, Spencer Ericksen). The third period resulted in another four goals for the Patriots with only two against. Goal scorers for the final period were Jeremy Fortner (Trenton Lee), Weston Shattuck (Trenton Lee), Spencer Ericksen (Jeremy Fortner), and Patrick Lee (Matt Birdwell, Arturo Garcia). Trenton Lee finished the evening with one goal and five assists to accumulate six points for the evening.

September 23:  While the Patriots struggled to get things going in the first period of Friday night's game, they came out firing Saturday afternoon. Goals from Zach Turner (Matt Bridwell) and Spencer Ericksen (Jeremy Fortner, Brett Stevens) got things going early. The Patriots found three more goals in the second period from Tyler Lee (Patrick Lee), Weston Shattuck (Trenton Lee, Spencer Ericksen), and Cory Guld (Matt Birdwell, Spencer Ericksen), his first as a DBU Patriot. In the final period in this home series for DBU, the Patriots found the back of the net twice more with goals from Jeremy Fortner (Weston Shattuck, Trenton Lee) and Weston Shattuck (Samuel Tipton, Spencer Ericksen) to close out the weekend against the Red Raiders

The DBU Ice Hockey team will travel to San Diego, CA September 28-29 to take on the Aztecs from San Diego State University.
