The Patriots closed the half on a three-pointer by freshman Carson Hughes to give DBU a 38-37 lead heading into the locker room on top for the first time this season.

In the second half it was Julian Miranda who had the hot hand finishing with a team-high 20 points on 5-10 from the field. Colorado Christian fought back late to cut the lead to four with seconds remaining, but the Patriots held on despite a buzzer-beater three by the Cougars to make the score 86-85.
