COUNTDOWN TO TIP-OFF
The DBU Men's Basketball team hosts the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist in its Homecoming game after a dominating 95-60 win over Howard Payne Tuesday evening. The Patriots never trailed en route to the 35 point victory.

After jumping out to a double-digit lead four minutes into the game and going up by as many as 20 in the games first 10, the Patriot's' lead began to pull away. Freshman guard
Carson Hughes posted a team-high 33 points on 10-17 shooting while going 5-8 from behind the three-point line. Hughes' 33-point performance tied him for the ninth most points in a single-game in DBU Basketball history.
DBU continued its trend of locking down opposing three-point shooters, as Howard Payne was 3-16 from beyond the arc. The Patriots made 13 of 24 threes, good for 54 percent on the evening.
The Patriots had four players in double digit scoring, led by Hughes,

JT Harris (11), and
Jalen White (11).

- With the win Tuesday, the Patriots are 5-0 in home opener games since 2013.
- DBU is averaging 87 points per game as a team so far this season, with a scoring margin of 8.3 points.

- OBUÂ is coming off a 12-16 season last year with a record of 10-12 in conference play. The Tigers had a signature win over Division I Arkansas-Little Rock in 2017.

- Raymond Harris leads the Tigers with 23 points per game, while Matt Stanley and Morris Tolbert both average 18 points per game.
