Patriots Survive on the Road Against NSU

THE RUNDOWN
DBU lead by as many as 17 to claim a 72-66 win over Northeastern State in its first true road victory this season. The Patriots made eight of nineteen first-half three-point attempts and shot 43 percent from the floor in the game's first 20 minutes to build a 40-26 lead by the break.

As dominant as they were on the offensive end, the Patriots were equally effective on defense, holding NSU to 3-13 from beyond the three-point line, while also forcing NSU into eight turnovers. With less than 10 seconds remaining, Chandler Jacobs stepped up to the free-throw line sinking both to seal the game.

Jacobs led all scorers with 17 points, and JT Harris had 15 of his own. Zach Lord led all players with nine rebounds, and Julian Miranda registered a game-high five assists.

DBU HEAD COACH BLAKE FLICKNER ON THE WIN
"This was a great learning experience and opportunity for this group to really grow. We had to overcome a sluggish start and find ways to close out a tight game on the road. I'm proud of the way this team found ways to get stops and grind out a road victory."
