COUNTDOWN TO TIP-OFF
The Alana Moana Hotel and Hawaii Pacific University will be the host site for the 2018 Hoops in Hawaii Division II Power Invitational. The action begins on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. (CT) when DBU faces 11th ranked Southern Nazarene, followed by Chaminade and Western Washington at 9:45 p.m. (CT). Bracket play will continue on Monday.

This is the inaugural year for the tournament, which includes eight of the top teams in Division II from all over the country.
 
PATRIOT STORYLINES
- Despite boasting the nation's third longest home win streak, the Patriots three losses have all happened on the road.

- DBU averages third in the Heartland Conference at 82.3 points per game as a team and outscores opponents by an average of 13.3 points per game.

- JT Harris leads the Patriots in scoring at 13.9 points per game. He also is second on the team in free-throw percentage.

- DBU as a team leads the Heartland Conference with a .391 shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Conner Lidiak ranks fourth in the conference shooting 38 percent.
 
- Three Patriots average double figures - Harris (13.9), Jacobs (13.2), and Hughes (10.3)
 
- Chandler Jacobs is shooting a team high 91 percent from the free-throw line this season.
 
- Carter Brown leads the Heartland Conference in steals at 2.5 a game.

SCOUTING THE FIELD
- Southern Nazarene enters the tournament ranked No. 11 in the country according to the NABC Coaches Poll, with a 9-1 record on the season. SNU is lead by junior Jhonathan Dunn, who averages a team-high 17.7 points per game.

- Chaminade is ranked No. 20 in the NABC Coaches poll with a perfect 6-0 record after defeating Hawai'i Pacific Tuesday evening, who is also in the field of eight.

- Western Washington holds a 7-2 record on the season and enters the tournament having won four of their last five games. Trevor Jasinsky leads the Vikings at 20.2 points per game, while shooting 92 percent from the free-throw line.

-Western Oregon is riding a four-game winning streak as they enter Honolulu at 7-1. The Wolves defeated Hawaii at Hilo 80-69 Friday evening on the efforts of Riley Hawken and Brandell Evans who combined for 31 points.

- Emmanuel College enters the tournament with a 7-4 record and a perfect 3-0 record in the Conference Carolinas.

- UC San Diego is the highest ranked tournament in the field according to the NABC Coaches Poll coming in at No. 7 in the country. The Tritons only loss came in an overtime thriller against Point Loma Nazarene on the road.

- Hawai'i Pacific rounds out the field of eight coming into the tournament with a 5-4 record and looks to extend their winning streak to three with a win over UC San Diego to open the tournament.

Following DBU's Hawaii tournament, the Patriots will return home for a matchup against Cameron inside the Burg Center December 29th at 3:00 p.m.
