THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Basketball team fell 87-81 to No. 20 Chaminade on Monday in their second game of the Hoops in Hawaii DII Power Invitational. The Silverswords shot 52 percent from the field and saw 23 points from Tyler Cartaino who was 8-10 from the field.

Chaminade led by 15 points with just under six minutes remaining in the second half. The Patriots answered with 24 points from the bench in the contest, but Chaminade held the Patriots at bay making 13-17 free-throws to seal the game, good for 77 percent.

The Patriots had four players in double figures as Carter Brown (21) and Jonathyn Washington (13) posted their season highs in points. JT Harris registered 11 points, while Jordan Manse scored 16 of his own, matching his season high.

DBU HEAD COACH BLAKE FLICKNER ON THE GAME
"Chaminade is really good. They outplayed us today. They present some really tough challenges on the defensive end. There is a reason they are undefeated. I'm proud of the effort our guys gave and the way they battled. We had some guys leave it all on the floor, but there's no time to dwell on it. We gotta bounce back and find a way against another good team tomorrow for our third game in three days."
