No. 25 DBU allowed a season-high 15 run in a 15-3 loss at Oklahoma on Tuesday. The Sooners (7-6) collected 18 hits to earn the split of the season series.
Six Oklahoma hitters had multiple hits Tuesday, as the Patriots (6-5) recorded only three scoreless innings.
Kody Funderburk (0-1) took the loss after allowing his first earned runs of the season. He allowed five runs on 10 hits – all singles –  including one to each of the first four batters of the game.
Each of DBU's first three hitters – Jameson Hannah, Devlin Granberg, and Matt Duce – had multi-hit nights, but the rest of the order went silent, collecting three hits in 23 at-bats.
Four of the six relief pitchers the Patriots deployed allowed two or more runs. Only Sean Boyle, who pitched a perfect sixth, and Coby Weaver, who recorded the final out, produced scoreless outings.
