DBU Baseball's Sean Boyle was selected by the New York Yankees in the 25th round of the Major League Basbeall amateur draft.  Boyle, a senior right-handed pitcher from Selden, New York, went 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in 21 appearances last season.  In 35.0 innings, Boyle struck out 40 batters, while issuing just 10 walks.

Boyle transferred to DBU as a junior last year from Suffolk County Community College, where he was a two-time First Team All-Region selection.  After making 10 appearances in his first season at DBU, Boyle emerged as a key component in the Patriots' bullpen in 2018, ranking fourth on the staff with 21 outings.

With today's announcement, Boyle becomes the fifth player selected from DBU in this year's draft, joining teammates Jameson Hannah (2nd Round - Oakland Athletics), Devlin Granberg (6th Round - Boston Red Sox), Matt Duce (9th Round - St. Louis Cardinals), and Kody Funderburk (15th Round - Minnesota Twins).  Boyle also becomes the 48th Patriot drafted during Dan Heefner's 11 seasons as the head coach at DBU.
