COUNTDOWN TO TIP-OFF
DBU can extend their winning streak to five games, making it their longest of the season Saturday with a win over Newman. Last time out, DBU defeated Oklahoma Christian 100-87 to hold second place in the Heartland Conference only behind No. 4 St. Edward's. The win marked the Patriots 33rd straight at home.
The Patriots kept the Eagles at bay throughout the game despite a few furious scoring runs by the Eagles. Senior Jordan Box led OCU with 17 points on 7-16 shooting. DBU shot 57 percent from the floor for the contest, and went 13-15 from beyond the arc.
JT Harris led the Patriots with a team-high 18 points, while
Chandler Jacobs followed closely behind with 17 points on 6-13 shooting.
Jordan Manse poured in 14 points of his own hitting a team-high of four three-point baskets.
Zach Lord chipped in 13 points and posted five rebounds.
Carson Hughes and
Jonathyn Washington rounded out the Patriots in double-digits with 12 points while Hughes went 4-4 from the field.
