No. 8 DBU Battles to a Draw Against St. Edward's

THE RUNDOWN
No. 8 DBU continued the 2019 season with a 0-0 tie versus St. Edward's on Thursday. After numerous back-and-forth chances, the two teams settled for a draw after 110 minutes.

The match marked the first time DBU had been shut out all season, and St. Edward's first time since September 21.

In overtime, both squads battled for the golden goal, but found no luck despite the Patriots offensive efforts.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - This was the second overtime tie of the season for the Patriots, their first since the season opener versus Central Oklahoma.
 - The Patriots nine shots outnumbered the total of St. Edward's, who posted only four shots on the evening.
 - With the draw, DBU still remains unbeaten on the season.

DBU HEAD COACH MICHELLE LENARD ON HER TEAM'S EFFORT
"We knew it was going to be a tough battle with them, it always is. They're a good team that's well-coached and they fight hard. Of course we'd like to win, they'd like to win, but truthfully I feel like it's a pretty fair result. There were moments when we looked like we were going to take over, and there were moments where they had us under a tremendous amount of pressure. I think taking a tie and moving on is a good situation for us right now. We need to regroup and get ready for Saturday."
