The DBU Baseball team spent their final day in Havana, Cuba, on Monday, as the team concluded their series versus the university team associated with the Cuban National League. For the second consecutive day, the Patriots shutout the Cuban team, winning 19-0 on Monday at Estadio Latinoamericano.
DBU's 19-run outburst was headlined by five home runs including blasts from Max Blessinger,
Hayden Ebrecht,
Trevor Hatton,
Blayne Jones, and
Andres Sosa. On the mound,
MacGregor Hines fired two shutout frames to start the game and set the table for a Patriot pitching staff that did not surrender a run in their two games in Havana.
Following the game, the team was scheduled to host a youth baseball clinic at Estadio Latinoamericano, but because of heavy rain in the area throughout the afternoon, the clinic was forced to be canceled.
On Tuesday morning, the DBU Baseball team travels two hours east to the city of Matanzas, where they are scheduled to play a game and host a baseball clinic.
