On Sunday, the DBU Baseball team completed their first full day in Havana, Cuba, as the Patriots played their first game of the week at Estadio Latino Americana, followed by a tour of the city, and then capped off the day by attending a church service.
Playing at the most iconic ballparks in the nation of Cuba, DBU won 13-0 over the university team that is associated with the Cuban National League. The game began with both teams meeting at home plate, holding their nation's flags, as each team's national anthem was played. Jace Grady,
Blayne Jones, and Tate Parker each hit home runs, while the Patriot pitching staff held the Cuban team scoreless on four hits.
Following the game, the team toured several historical sites throughout the city before attending a church service that evening.Â
Tomorrow, DBU returns to action for their second game at Estadio Latino America. After their game, the team will host a youth baseball clinic at the ballpark.
