Men's Tennis Competes at ITA Regional

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Tennis team competed in the ITA Regional Tournament over the weekend in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Facing a field that featured seven teams from the Lone Star Conference, as well as four teams ranked in the top 15 nationally, the Patriots put together a solid showing over the weekend.

Gabe Garrido led the way for DBU.  After falling in a long three-set match to an opponent from St. Edward's, Garrido bounced back to win his next singles match over an opponent from Colorado State-Pueblo.  Grant McKenzie also picked up a victory in singles action, while Hunter Terrell and Riley Smith won a round in the consolation bracket.

In doubles play, the team of McKenzie and Smith dropped a tiebreaker to the St. Edward's team that won the tournament, but returned to defeat a team from St. Edward's in the back draw.
