In their first matchup since 2015, DBU (13-13, 5-9) fell to UT Permian Basin (17-6, 9-5) 3-0 during a Saturday afternoon matchup.

The Falcons jumped out to an early 4-2 lead in the first set, but the Lady Patriots pulled ahead by two after a series of errors and a kill by
Carly Earnest to force a timeout. A 6-0 scoring run put the Falcons back on top at 12-7 and they maintained their lead for the rest of the set to win 25-20.
Carly Earnest led the set with four kills while
Kasey Holand and
Emma Eakin topped the leaderboard with two blocks apiece.

In the second set, the Falcons jumped out to a double-digit lead against the Lady Patriots at 17-7. Â The Falcons kept the momentum for the remainder of the set to post 14 kills to win 25-13.
Strealy Sizelove had the highest hitting percentage after the set (1.000) and
Alyssa Pevehouse led the match with 13 digs.

The Lady Patriots kept a tied game for the first four points of the match, but a series of kills put the Falcons on top at 8-4 to force a timeout. The Falcon offense was on fire and posted 16 kills on the set to give them the advantage to win 25-16. Despite the loss,
Emma Eakin led the match with 12 kills and
Kasey Holand topped the leaderboard with five blocks.
