COUNTDOWN TO TIP-OFF
DBU knocked off Tarleton State in a thriller on Thursday night, beating the Texans, 69-61. It was a night of firsts for the Patriots, marking their first game as a member of the Lone Star Conference, as well as the first win in Stephenville for DBU.
The Patriot's red-hot start has been due to a combination of consistent scoring and timely defense. DBU continues to be one of the best teams at forcing turnovers. Currently ranked second in the Lone Star Conference in steals per game (11.00), the ability to take the rock away has been a key difference down the stretch.
After a statement win against Tarleton State, the Patriots look to continue their winning streak against Arlington Baptist College. It will be a star-spangled night inside The Burg Center on Homecoming for DBU as both teams claim 'Patriots' as their mascot. It will be the fourth matchup in the history of this series.
PATRIOT STORYLINES
-Chandler Jacobs leads the team in overall scoring with 65 points through the three games that he has appeared in. He also leads the team in rebounds with 21.
-Redshirt freshman forward William Heather has roared to life in his last two contests, most recently scoring 11 points against the Texans in just 12 minutes.
- DBU has 44 steals in their first four games, putting them on pace for 308 takeaways in the regular season. That number would have blown away the LSC a year ago, topping the next best total by 58 steals.
-The Patriots continue to improve their shooting efficiency, raising their season shooting percentage to 45.5 percent. Carter Brown holds the team lead in shooting efficiency at 56.3 percent.
-DBU has started 4-0 two other times in recent history (2017-2018 and 2008-2009). Both years, the Patriots either won or contended for a conference title and made it to the NCAA tournament.
SCOUTING ARLINGTON BAPTIST
- The Patriots of Arlington Baptist are members of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).

-The Patriots have not had the ability to shoot the three ball this season (26.5 percent for the year), instead having to rely on midrange and points in the paint.
- Head coach Glenn Hartson has a very close connection to DBU. His daughter, Cameron, played volleyball for DBU from 2010-2013. Her senior season she earned NCAA Division II ACA All-American Honorable Mention Libero, becoming the first player in the history of DBU Volleyball to earn All-American honors.
