THE RUNDOWN
DBU suffered its first home loss of the season Saturday at the hands of No. 3 St. Edward's, 94-81. Despite the a few Patriot runs, a hot-shooting second half helped the Hilltoppers hold the lead for nearly the entire remainder of the game. With the loss, the Patriots snap the longest winning streak in the country at 37 games.
St. Edward's shot 50 percent from the field and 45 percent from the three-point line. DBU shot an impressive 53.6 percent from the field but couldn't put it together from beyond the arc going eight of 23.
Jonathyn Washington added a team-high 20 points of his own, one point less than the season-high for the junior from Frisco.
Chandler Jacobs scored 19 points on 9-14 from the floor, good for 64 percent on the evening.
Carter Brown chipped in 17 points on 5-7 from the field.
