DBU Advances to Heartland Semi-Finals With Win Over UAFS

THE RUNDOWN
DBU outscored the Lions of Arkansas – Fort Smith by 10 points in the second half en route to a 85-64 win, advancing the Patriots to the second round of the Heartland Conference Tournament. DBU was led by Chandler Jacobs team-high 24 points and a strong defensive effort that held the Lions to only 30 percent shooting for the contest.

In the first half, DBU jumped out to a quick lead and held the Lions at bay throughout the remainder of the half. The Patriots shot 53 percent from the field in the first half knocking down 17-32 shots.

DBU came out firing on all cylinders in the second half leading by 11, never trailing throughout the contest, as well as shooting 52 percent from the field on 31-60 from the floor. The Patriots extended their lead to as many as 21 points due to the three-point shooting by Conner Lidiak who finished with nine total.

Carter Brown posted 14 points on five of ten shooting and snagged four steals, while JT Harris and Jordan Manse both recorded eight points each. Zach Lord pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and finished with six points, while Jonathyn Washington chipped in with six points of his own.

- DBU's win over UAFS marks the Patriots third straight win against the Lions.
- The Patriots held the Lions to only 2-13 from three-point range in the second half, good for 15 percent.
