Dallas Baptist University recently claimed the Heartland Conference's Women's Academic Award of Excellence. Comprised of five women's teams including cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, and volleyball, DBU compiled a 3.53 cumulative grade point average.
As an athletic department, the DBU men's and women's programs combined to post a 3.31 GPA, a mark that ranked third best in the Heartland. Last year, DBU set a conference record with a 3.39 GPA, which was tied by St. Edward's this year.
